It's a battle of the unbeatens when the Tennessee Titans host the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2 NFL action. As 8.5-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Titans are expected to move to 2-0 on the season with their eyes set on making the playoffs for the second year in a row.
The Titans need to play hard and shouldn't expect an easy victory as the Jaguars already have an upset win under their belt when they beat the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1. With that in mind, here are three bold predictions for the Titans against the Jaguars.
1. Corey Davis Has 100 Receiving Yards
Corey Davis tied A.J. Brown for a team-high with 8 targets in Week 1. Now Brown's availability is up in the air due to a bone bruise in his knee, and Davis could be Tennessee's No. 1 wideout in Week 2. The Jaguars gave up the third-most passing yards in the league last week when Phillip Rivers and the Colts had 357, which should bode well for Ryan Tannehill and the offense. Davis shouldn't have too much trouble converting volume into yardage in this one.
2. Derrick Henry Has 150+ rushing Yards and Scores a Touchdown
Titans' running back Derrick Henry has a history of having huge games on the ground against the Jaguars and this week should be no different. Last season, he racked up 159 yards on 19 carries and scored 2 touchdowns in their second matchup. The Titans' offense ran through Henry in Week 1 as he ran for 116 yards on a staggering 31 carries, while no other Titans RB had even a single carry. Jacksonville gave up the fifth-most rushing yards per game last season (139.3) and is a team that doesn't match up well with the sheer size of Henry in the backfield. Don't be surprised if Henry torches the Jaguars defense once again on his way to another massive game.
3. Titans Score 35+ Points in an Offensive Shootout
The Titans underperformed on Monday night and were lucky to escape with a 16-14 win that featured three missed field goals and a missed extra point. The Titans found themselves down near the red zone a number of times where they came away with zero points. The Jaguars showed they can spread the ball around and score points in Week 1 as they put up 27 on the Colts. In fact, the Jaguars averaged 20 points in the two games against the Titans last year and seem to have an improved offense now. If the Titans want to win this game, they will need to take advantage of reaching the red zone and find ways to score touchdowns. In a game that could easily turn into an offensive shootout, expect the Titans to put up 35-plus points in a statement win.
