3 Remaining Free Agents the Phillies Should Target This Offseason

The Philadelphia Phillies made a huge splash last offseason, landing arguably the MLB's most-coveted free agent in outfielder Bryce Harper. While they haven't made as big of a move this offseason, they've still been active, signing starter Zack Wheeler and shortstop Didi Gregorius.
Although, Philly might not be done quite yet. With that in mind, let's take a look at three players they could still target in free agency.
1. Dallas Keuchel, SP
The Phillies could both help their own rotation and hurt their rival's rotation by signing Dallas Keuchel away from the Atlanta Braves. Sure, he may not be the dominant pitcher he once was with the Houston Astros, but Keuchel can still be a solid middle-of-the-rotation starter. The former Cy Young winner had an 8-8 record with a 3.75 ERA for the Braves last season.
2. Dellin Betances, RP
Dellin Betances has been a stud for the New York Yankees in the past. Last season was marred by injuries though, and he only ended up pitching 2/3 of an inning before partially tearing his Achilles and ending his 2019 campaign. Luckily no surgery was required so he won't be relegated to the sidelines for a full season. In his five full season with the Yankees, Betances was one of the American League's best relievers. He had a combined 2.22 ERA, a ridiculous 607 strikeouts in 373 1/3 inning pitched and a 1.02 WHIP during that span. Betances would be an excellent addition to help shore up the Phillies' bullpen. Plus, the relief pitcher could feel some comfort in coming to Philly with former manager Joe Girardi, and teammate and Didi Gregorius already there.
3. Eric Sogard, UTL
Eric Sogard has proven to be a fantastic utility man and he could potentially be had at a great price. Last season he spent time at second base, third base, shortstop and both corner outfield positions while with the Toronto Blue Jays, but primarily played second base once he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays. Regardless, most teams could use a guy like Sogard, even if just for insurance against injuries or to give every day players a spell all around the diamond.
