The Green Bay Packers kick off their 2022 NFL season with a Week 1 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. This NFC North rivalry has been far from one-sided as both Minnesota and Green Bay have captured five wins in the last 11 head-to-head matchups. They even played to a tie back in 2018.

The Packers head into this game as a 1.5-point road favorite, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds. With Aaron Rodgers at the helm, there's always a possibility that this game gets out of hand quickly, though. Let's take a look at three reasons Green Bay will blow out Minnesota in Week 1.

Packers vs Vikings Week 1

1. Powerful One-Two Punch at RB

A lot of attention is going to be paid to whether or not Rodgers is able to move the ball down the field with star receiver Davante Adams no longer on the team. This game is going to be won with the ground game, though. The Vikings posted the eighth-worst rush defense DVOA rating in 2021 and allowed 4.7 yards per carry (T-No. 30 in NFL). Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon are both dynamic runners when the football is in their hands. In the Packers' 37-10 win over Minnesota last year, the two ball-carriers combined for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Expect more of the same on Sunday.

2. The Hiring of Rich Bisaccia

The Packers hired Rich Bisaccia in the offseason to be their new special teams coordinator. The addition got buried among other notable NFL stories, but it is not something that should be overlooked. Green Bay was horrendous on special teams last year. The team ranked 26th in kick return coverage, 30th in kick return coverage and 31st in field goal percentage. Field position makes a huge difference in football games and avoiding dumb mistakes ultimately leads to bigger wins. Bisaccia's time spent as an interim head coach for the Las Vegas Raiders molded him into a fantastic leader as well.

3. Packers' Week 1 Dominance

It's safe to say that Rodgers is going to do everything he can to keep what happened last season from happening again this time around. The Packers suffered a blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints by a score of 38-3. It's important to note that before the game, Green Bay had won six straight Week 1 games and averaged over 25 points per game during that span. That winning streak included a 43-34 victory over the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium in 2019. The Packers know the benefit of getting off to a hot start in the NFL and have proved in the past that they can get the job done.
