The Pittsburgh Steelers' 2020 season ended on a sour note, with the team being ousted from the playoffs by divisional rival the Cleveland Browns. One major question for the Steelers heading into the 2021 offseason revolves around their starting quarterback.

Ben Roethlisberger is clearly showing his age, and the team needs to start making its preparations for a new era.

With that in mind, here are three quarterbacks the Steelers should consider in the 2021 NFL Draft to replace Big Ben.

1. Trey Lance, QB – North Dakota State

North Dakota State's Trey Lance only has one full season of starts behind him, but he's highly regarded as one of the draft's best quarterbacks. Lance put up 2,786 yards and 28 TDs as a sophomore in 2019 before sitting out the majority of the 2020 season. Lance is a dynamic dual-threat, adding 1,100 yards and 14 TDs on the ground in 2019 as well. Pittsburgh will need to trade up near the top 10 for even a chance at selecting Lance, but the NDSU QB seems well worth it, and he'd benefit from a year or two as Big Ben's understudy.

2. Mac Jones, QB – Alabama Crimson Tide

Mac Jones has gained serious tracion as a draft prospect by leading Alabama to an undefeated season and championship win. Jones wasn't just a game-manager, though: He lit up opposing defenses for 4,500 yards and 41 TDs (with just 4 interceptions). There's little chance that Jones lasts until No. 24, so the Steelers will need to trade up. However, with how well Jones performed in his senior season surrounded by the Tide's weapons, he'd be primed for similar success in Pittsburgh.

3. Kyle Trask, QB – Florida Gators

Florida's Kyle Trask has fallen on the QB big board, which could be great news for the Steelers and their late first-round selection. Trask is no slouch, placing fourth in Heisman Trophy voting this year after throwing for 4,283 yards and 43 TDs as a senior. Taking Trask at No. 24 would be a good investment for the Steelers, who can have their heir apparent sit behind Roethlisberger for a year or two and soak in knowledge from the future Hall-of-Famer before taking over the reins.
