The Baltimore Ravens are going to be in the market for some help at linebacker this offseason. Armed with just over $30 million in cap space, they'll have enough to go after one huge signing or a handful of more economical pieces.
With Patrick Onwuasor, Pernell McPhee and Matt Judon all set to be free agents, one or all of them could end up leaving town. With that in mind, let's take a look at a few pro bowl linebackers they could go after in free agency.
1. Shaquille Barrett
Coming off a Pro Bowl season in 2019 that saw him record a whopping 19.5 sacks and 58 tackles and still only 27 years old, Shaquille Barrett will be one of the most sought-after linebackers in this free agent class. If the Ravens are looking to sign a true difference-maker who can be a reliable option in the long term, Barrett would be a great addition.
2. Terrell Suggs
This would probably be a one-year-deal, but it's no secret Terrell Suggs is open to a return to the Ravens. In fact, when was waived by the Cardinals last season, he went as far to say he would only play for the Ravens, before ultimately signing with the Chiefs. I'm sure winning a Super Bowl in Kansas City curbed those feelings a bit, but not entirely. Suggs was a monster for the Ravens for 16 years and could help them once again, even in his older age. As long as they can come to a reasonable contract price, Suggs could provide additional veteran leadership and depth to a defense that might be losing a number of players from last season.
3. Joe Schobert
Joe Schobert is one of the most solid linebackers in the NFL. Only 26 years old, he's recorded at least 103 tackles in three consecutive seasons and was a Pro Bowler in 2017. That production at a young age will surely make Schobert carry a hefty price tag on the open market, but he'd bring versatility and stability to the Ravens' linebacking group.
