3 Most Likely Kicker Replacements for Stephen Gostkowski

Stephen Gostkowski had yet another brutal miss in the key divisional loss against the Indianapolis Colts last night. For Mike Vrabel and the Tennessee Titans, the patience for the veteran kicker must be nearing its end, as he has now missed eight field goals and two extra points in nine games.

Stephen Gostkowski missed 8 field goals in 48 games from 2013-15.
The former New England Patriots long-term kicker seemed to be aging in his last few years with New England, but he was never this bad. Many think Gostkowski may not make it to Week 11. If he doesn't, here are his three likeliest replacements.
3. Matt Bryant
The Titans could try and coax Matt Bryant out of retirement. The 45-year old kicker was one of the best to ever play the position. In his final season with the Atlanta Falcons in 2019, Bryant was terrible, but he was also dealing with injury. Just the year before he kicked at a 95.2 percent clip. He may not be willing, but at this point Tennessee might as well give Bryant a call.
2. Stephen Hauschka
If they want to replace experience with experience, Stephen Hauschka is probably the best name on the market that is game-ready. The long-time Seattle Seahawks kicker played with the Buffalo Bills the last few seasons, before a brief stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2020. His field goal percentage dipped to 78.6 his last two seasons, and he missed both games in his audition in Jacksonville. Hauschka is now 35 years old, one year younger than Gostkowski.
1. Giorgio Tavecchio
The Titans signed Giorgio Tavecchio to their practice squad on Tuesday, so based on convenience he is the obvious candidate to take over the kicking job. After bouncing around as a backup post-college, the journeyman finally got an opportunity with the Oakland Raiders in 2017, five years after he graduated. He only had a 76.2 field goal percentage that season, but did get another opportunity in 2018 with the Atlanta Falcons where he went 13-for-13 on kicks in three games as a replacement. Tavecchio was unable to win a job in 2019 or 2020, but, perhaps, he can find some consistency again in Tennessee.
