Seattle Seahawks' running back Chris Carson has proven to be one of the best backs in the league when healthy. But that's been a real problem for him. Since bursting onto the scene in 2017, Carson has missed at least one game in four straight years, missing multiple games in three of those four.

Set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason, Carson will be a compelling target for any RB-needy team. And his injury history could mean he comes at a bargain.

With that in mind, here are the three most likely landing spots for Carson in free agency.

3. Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have built arguably the most explosive offense in the league, but running back is a bit of a weak spot. While Devin Singletary and Zack Moss are fine, neither is really a game-changer. Carson has proven he can be when he's right. And his hard-nosed, aggressive play style would make him an excellent fit on a Buffalo team that has been bulldozing opponents recently. If Carson agrees to a team-friendly deal to play with a legit Super Bowl contender, this could be an excellent pairing.

2. New York Jets

After striking out on Le'Veon Bell just a few years ago, the New York Jets may be hesitant to shell out big money to another running back. But it's clearly a position the team needs to address. Carson would immediately become a dangerous threat on the ground with Mekhi Becton paving the way for him. Plus, he's likely going to be a much cheaper option than someone like Aaron Jones, which should be appealing to Jets GM Joe Douglas. Signing Carson should allow New York to bolster its RB room without limiting its ability to address other parts of the roster.

1. Seattle Seahawks

Pete Carroll was up to his old tricks after the Seahawks' loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the Wild Card Round. He made it clear he wants to run the ball more in 2021, which predictably angered Seahawks' Twitter. Whether or not Carroll is correct is a different story, but it's hard to imagine this team running more if they lose Carson to free agency. A dominant between-the-tackles force with an improving pass-catching ability, Carson is a great fit in this offense. If they can agree on a number, Carson is likely staying put.
