Drew Lock was considered a project when he was drafted in the second round on the 2019 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. However, after dealing with some injuries and sitting behind a struggling Joe Flacco for a bit, Lock burst onto the scene to lead the Broncos to a 4-1 record down the stretch of last season.

As he enters his second season, one thing he needs is weapons around him. Phillip Lindsay is solid at running back and Noah Fant showed flashes as a rookie, but they traded away Emmanuel Sanders, his best wideout last season, and now have Courtland Sutton as the team's top receiver.

Let's take a look at three players the Broncos can sign to help build around Lock.

1. Delanie Walker, TE

We mentioned the emergence of Noah Fant late last season, but adding a veteran presence like Delanie Walker could do wonders for Lock's development. Walker is a true do-it-all tight end with a ton of experience. He can help Fant realize his full potential, while also creating a dynamic TE duo that can both block and catch the ball effectively. And, perhaps, he best part is that Walker will most likely come cheap.

2. Devin Funchess, WR

Devin Funchess was only able to suit up for one game in his lone year for Indianapolis in 2019, but he seemed to be showing big improvements the two seasons before that in Carolina. Funchess is still only 26 years old and is highly athletic. He could be a perfect complement to Courtland Sutton on the outside and give Lock another guy he can sling it to on deep routes and trust Funchess to go up and get it. Which is a welcomed weapon for ay young quarterback.

3. Taylor Gabriel, WR

If the Broncos are looking for an effective slot receiver to provide Lock with some extra insurance on inside routes, then Taylor Gabriel could be their guy. Never putting up huge numbers in Chicago, Gabriel had flashes of greatness, showcasing his sure hands, route-running and insane speed with some explosive plays for the Bears. He should also come at a great price too.
