3 Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Replacements for Blue Jays Closer Ken Giles

Ken Giles has been one of the most dominant closers in all of baseball this season, and after the Toronto Blue Jays' closer was placed on the 10-day injured list, his fantasy baseball owners will have to scour the waiver wire for a viable replacement
Luckily, there are a few relievers, available in more than 50 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, that could be a solid source of saves for your team while Giles is on the shelf.
Here are three relief pitchers that Giles' owners should target as Week 11 fantasy baseball pickups.
3. Shawn Kelley, Texas Rangers
Shawn Kelley has blown three of his last five save opportunities, but he looks to have a pretty long leash as the Rangers' closer. Overall, the veteran righty has pitched well, sporting a 2.66 ERA with seven saves and 20 strikeouts through 23 2/3 innings pitched. Saves are pretty hard to come by at this point in the season, and considering Kelley is available in 58 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, he's definitely worth an add for Giles' owners, despite the Texas reliever's recent volatility.
2. Joe Biagini, Toronto Blue Jays
What better place to look for Giles' replacement than in Toronto's own bullpen? Joe Biagini has been good in late-inning relief for the Blue Jays this season, with a 3.72 ERA and 28 strikeouts in 29 innings. The 29-year-old righty is the only Toronto reliever other than Giles to record a save this season, making him the team's likely closer for the time being. Biagini is available in 88 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, so owners of Giles could make the Blue Jays' in-house replacement theirs as well.
1. Ian Kennedy, Kansas City Royals
Ian Kennedy has been victim of a closer-by-committee situation in Kansas City for most of the 2019 season. But his recent outings may indicate that he's finally grabbed hold of the team's closer role. The 34-year-old righty has been called upon in save situations in three of his last four appearances and has been dominant, going 3-for-3 in save opportunities while allowing one hit and striking out eight in four innings pitched. While Kennedy is available in 73 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, that number will likely change quickly, so pick up the Royals' reliever while you still can.
