After struggling in his third straight start on Friday, the Yankees announced they are putting starting pitcher Domingo German on the 10-day injured list with a left hip flexor strain. German has been awesome this year, and is currently tied for the MLB lead in wins with nine. He also sports a 1.11 WHIP and has 77 strikeouts in 70 innings pitched so far this season.

While the severity of his injury isn't yet known (MRI scheduled for Monday), German fantasy owners need to start making other plans for their pitching staff if only for the short term.

Here are three waiver-wire replacements, who are available in at least 50 percent of Yahoo! Fantasy Baseball leagues, for German.

While Nick Pivetta has not quite taken the leap forward that some were hoping for in his third MLB season, he still provides value as a short-term fantasy replacement. After throwing a complete game yesterday against Cincinnati, Pivetta has now allowed just one run in his last 15 innings pitched. Pivetta has 365 career strikeouts in just 335 1/3 innings pitched and is currently still available in 50% of Yahoo! leagues.

2. Trevor Richards, Miami Marlins

Unbeknownst to many, Trevor Richards has had a quietly impressive second MLB season pitching in the baseball wasteland that is Miami. Richards sports a 3.31 ERA and has been red-hot as of late. He's allowed just three runs in his last 24 1/3 innings pitched. He also has a 0.67 WHIP and 0.75 ERA over his last two starts. Owners looking to replace German might want to grab this guy sooner rather than later, as his 30% Yahoo! ownership is sure to rise if he continues to pitch like he has been recently.

1. Eric Lauer, San Diego Padres

Eric Lauer continues to impress as a young starter for the Padres. He has now pitched into the sixth inning while allowing three or fewer runs in each of his last five starts. He has a 1.03 WHIP over that span. After starting off the season in a bit of a funk, he has seemed to correct those issues, and has whittled his ERA down to 4.14. Currently available in 73% of Yahoo! leagues, Lauer is a great option for fantasy owners in need of pitching.
