Coming off a victory in Super Bowl LIV, the Kansas City Chiefs don't exactly have much room for improvement. But if this team wants to make another Super Bowl run, there are a few players that need to step up in a big way.

With that in mind, here are three Chiefs that could be entering a make-or-break season in 2020.

1. Chris Jones

It might be strange to see Chris Jones, one of the NFL's premier interior disruptors, on a list like this, but the Chiefs elected to use the franchise tag on their star defensive tackle rather than sign him to a long-term deal. Jones has already done enough to merit a massive contract, but if he falls off or suffers another injury, Kansas City could be hesitant to give him a big deal. If he turns in another dominant season, though, Jones could quickly become one of the highest-paid defensive linemen in the NFL.

2. Damien Williams

An undrafted free agent, Damien Williams has been excellent whenever called upon. In fact, he's also been at his best in the biggest moments, racking up a ridiculous 10 touchdowns through five career postseason games with Kansas City. However, he's entering the last year of his contract, and the Chiefs just drafted Darwin Thompson in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Williams has already proven himself, and more, but if he wants to lock up a long-term deal, he'll have to shine again in the 2020 season.

3. Sammy Watkins

Sammy Watkins is undoubtedly talented. But while he's shined in some big moments, he's never really lived up to his price tag in Kansas City. He signed a three-year, $48 million deal back in 2018, but he's never racked up more than 673 receiving yards since joining the Chiefs. Unless he proves he can produce at a high level consistently, it's hard to picture him being back on the team in 2021.
