The track and field betting really kicks in with the start of the Olympic athletics competition and the 10,000m final event.

Uganda's Joshua Cheptegei is the 2019 world champion and current 10,000m world record holder. He's one to watch after posting a world record time of 26:11.00 in a 2020 meet in Valencia. But compatriot Jacob Kiplimo has drawn more betting interest, and he posted a time of 26:33.93 in May 2021. Those two will try to capture the first medal for Uganda at this year's Olympic Games.

The favorite is Yomif Kejelcha of Ethiopia, who won a silver medal in the men's 10,000 meters at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.

Here are the FanDuel Sportsbook track and field betting odds and leading favorites and contenders to win the gold medal in the men's 10,000m race. Fifteen other runners of the 6.2 mile race have odds of +10000.
