2020 Stanley Cup Odds Favor Lightning, Bruins, Maple Leafs and Golden Knights

Congratulations to the St. Louis Blues, who won Game 7 in Boston to secure their first Stanley Cup. Blues fans can ride high after finally winning the Cup, but looking ahead to next season, they are not expected to repeat as champions. Instead, it's the Tampa Bay Lightning leading the charge (+700), according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

The favorite to win next season's Stanley Cup is the Lightning, and with good reason. They finished the regular season with the most points (128), 21 ahead of the Flames and Bruins, who were tied for second. The Lightning also essentially return everyone worthwhile, including NHL's point leader in Nikita Kucherov and the wins leader in Andrei Vasilevskiy.

Not far behind is the Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs and Vegas Golden Knights, who are all tied at +1000. This means that three of the top five favorites to win the Cup come from the Atlantic Division, which is sure to be a battle all season long.

The current champion Blues have the sixth-best odds to win it all in 2020, at +1300. However, we know how this team is able to overcome the odds, after starting the season with the NHL's worst record, only to finish the year on top. So never count them out.
