The Washington Football Team was one of the surprising stories across the 2020 NFL season with their impressive NFC East title. While the WFT did finish just 7-9, this was enough for the franchise's first division title and playoff appearance since 2015.

The 2020 NFL season was monumental in Washington, D.C., for another reason: the official re-naming of the franchise. Washington ditched their former team name, the Redskins, for socially conscious reasons and operated as the Washington Football Team.

Possible Washington Football Team Names

Just last week, the team announced it will hold onto the WFT name for the 2021 season but a new name and logo will be revealed in early 2022.
