Takkarist McKinley is an undeniably talented pass-rusher, but he hasn't quite turned that into consistent production yet. He's recorded a modest 16.5 sacks through three seasons with the Atlanta Falcons, and he's headed into a make-or-break fourth season with the team.

And it seems as if McKinley knows just how important this season is. According to his latest Instagram post, the UCLA product has dropped about 20 pounds this offseason.

McKinley has been working out a ton and eating right while rehabbing from a shoulder injury. He profiles as more of a quick, speedy pass-rusher than a bulldozer, so, perhaps, the weight loss will help him perfect that first step to blow by offensive linemen.

With Vic Beasley now a member of the Tennessee Titans, McKinley is going to need a big season playing opposite from Dante Fowler, and this Instagram post is certainly a good sign for his chances in 2020.
