The New Orleans Saints made a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles that landed them a second first-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. What the team plans to do with it is yet to been seen, but CBS Sports' latest mock draft has head coach Dennis Allen's squad taking a major reach at quarterback.

Ryan Wilson projects the Saints to be the landing spot for Ole Miss QB Matt Corral at No. 16 overall. The idea of New Orleans taking a signal-caller is not farfetched given the lack of youth at that spot on the roster. Taking Corral while Pittsburgh's Kenny Pickett is still on the board is a big stretch, though.

Don't get it twisted, Corral has a ton of upside at the next level given his combination of arm strength and toughness. However, it's important to keep in mind that that he is coming off a major ankle injury and tends to scramble out of the pocket too early. It may take some time before he's ready to start.

Meanwhile, Pickett is as experienced as a draft prospect can be. He broke out in his fifth and final season with the Panthers by throwing for 4,319 yards and 42 touchdowns in 13 games. The 23-year-old possesses pinpoint accuracy and a high football IQ.

The Saints re-signed Jameis Winston to a two-year deal to be the team's starter for now. That could mean that drafting a project QB makes no difference to the front office. If Corral is the guy, then trading up in the second round to grab him seems more worthwhile than using a valuable top pick.

Keep an eye on New Orleans when the 2022 NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 28.
