The New Orleans Saints lost one of their key starters on Sunday when offensive lineman Terron Armstead exited the game with an apparent arm injury. It was later confirmed to be an elbow ailment, and he did not return to the team's win over the New England Patriots.
The team got some mixed news regarding their star tackle on Monday.
Terron Armstead Injury
Armstead is expected to miss "several weeks," according to Ian Rapoport. However, any fears about the injury being season-ending appear to have been squashed.
New Orleans being down a top offensive lineman is far from ideal. However, losing Armstead for the year would've been a much worse scenario, so this update is at least a bit positive.
Armstead is coming off of three straight Pro Bowl nods from 2018-2020. It's easy to see him missing at least the next two games, but the team's early bye in Week 6 could prove crucial to getting the star back on the field sooner rather than later.
