The New Orleans Saints improved to 3-2 on the year after taking down the Washington Football Team in Week 5. New Orleans' secondary was particularly impressive on Sunday, as they held Washington star Terry McLaurin under 50 yards for the first time all season.
Now one member of the defense has been recognized for his play against WFT.
NFC Player of the Week
Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore has been awarded the NFC's Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 5 efforts.
Lattimore was key to keeping McLaurin and the Washington passing game at bay. The three-time Pro Bowler recorded 6 pass breakups and proved to be a thorn in Taylor Heinicke's side all afternoon.
Lattimore is now up to 9 pass deflections along with 1 interception this season. He'll look to keep up his standout coverage when the Saints return from their bye and face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 7.
