Raiders News: Josh Jacobs Reveals Reaction to Trent Brown and Rodney Hudson Trades
By Larry Rupp
The Las Vegas Raiders surprised a lot of people when they traded away multiple starting offensive linemen including Trent Brown and Rodney Hudson this offseason. It looks like starting running back Josh Jacobs was one of them as he recently revealed what his reaction was when he heard the news.
It isn't shocking to learn that Jacobs was not exactly happy about the decisions made by the front office at first. Both Hudson and Gabe Jackson started every game for the Raiders last season and Jacobs was bound to grow close to the players opening up holes for him to run through.
However, he also stated his excitement for the new offensive line this upcoming season just as any good teammate would. Las Vegas desperately needs improvement up front as the Raiders; offensive line was ranked ninth-worst at the position at the end of the 2020, according to ProFootballFocus.
Jacobs has the skills to torment opposing defenses assuming the OL can do its job correctly. The 23-year-old ball-carrier has surpassed 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first two NFL seasons and averages 4.3 yards per carry in his career. He also scored a team-high 12 touchdowns last year.
The Raiders will have some new faces along the offensive line in the fall including rookie first-round pick Alex Leatherwood. It'll be interesting to see if it makes a difference as Las Vegas heads in the season with odds set at +350 to make the playoffs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
