11 weeks of the 2021 campaign are already in the books. The fantasy football playoff picture is starting to shape up, and bye weeks are here. You can't afford to waste any roster space.
Every waiver wire pickup is crucial at this stage, and knowing how to make roster space for those adds is key.
Week 12 Waiver Wire
You don't want to cut ties with high-upside players, but you also don't want duds hanging around taking up valuable bench space.
Fantasy Football Players to Drop
With that in mind, here are three players, all rostered in at least 50 percent of Yahoo! fantasy football leagues, that you can drop to make space for Week 12 wavier wire pickups.
1. Derrick Henry, RB, Tennessee Titans
Despite being on IR for what might be the entire season, Derrick Henry is still rostered in 86% of leagues. Without a timeline of return, that made some sense because even with an outside chance of returning in time for the fantasy football championship, he could be worth holding on to. We got an update on his status last week, however, and there's only "optimism" that he even returns by early January. That would bring him back for Week 18, which is after the championship week in just about every league. It might hurt, but it's time to let go.
2. Kenyan Drake, RB, Las Vegas Raiders
The only saving grace for Kenyan Drake's fantasy football value tends to be his receiving work, but even that's starting to fade. Despite pass-heavy gameflow in the last two weeks, Drake has just a combined 3 receptions on five targets, playing 31% and 32% of the team's offensive snaps. Josh Jacobs, on the other hand, has played 57% and 66%, catching 10 of 12 targets. Falling out of favor in the passing game leaves Drake offering very little value the rest of the way.
3. D'Onta Foreman, RB, Tennessee Titans
D'Onta Foreman was a popular pickup last week after he appeared to overtake Adrian Peterson in the Tennessee Titans backfield. Then the Titans turned around and gave Dontrell Hilliard a team-high 15 touches. That's now three different players that have led the backfield in touches across the last three games. This backfield is a mess, and your best bet is to just avoid it.
