Noah Fant and KJ Hamler Injury Update Boosts Tim Patrick Fantasy Value in Week 5

As the Denver Broncos prepare for their Week 5 matchup against the New England Patriots, they are faced with the realization they could be without two key pass catchers.

Noah Fant Injury Update

Tight End Noah Fant continues to deal with an ankle injury that on Saturday, once again kept him sidelined at practice. Fant has been a crucial piece of the Broncos passing game in 2020, hauling in a team-leading 19 receptions. He also ranks second on the team in receiving yards with 219, just 15 less than rookie wideout Jerry Jeudy.

KJ Hamler Injury Update

Fellow rookie wide receiver KJ Hamler has also been dealing with a hamstring injury, and his status for the Week 5 matchup remains in doubt.

Tim Patrick Fantasy Outlook

If one or both of Fant and Hamler are on the sidelines this week, Tim Patrick could be the biggest beneficiary. He ranks third on the team in receiving yards, but second in targets. He should see a real uptick in the latter in Week 5, especially if both injured players end up sitting out.

Patrick has been a pleasant surprise for the Broncos this season after the team spent a ton of draft capital at the position in the offseason. He really showed out last week with 6 catches and 113 yards against a weak New York Jets secondary.

Patrick could be looking at a similar output if Fant and Hamler are on the sidelines, despite it being a tougher matchup.
