Two months into the 2020-21 NBA season and LaMelo Ball is running away in the odds for the NBA's Rookie of the Year award. The Charlotte Hornets point guard was the youngest player in NBA history with a triple-double in early January, and he's continued his league-best play for rookies while increasing his lead in the Rookie of the Year race.
LaMelo Ball Rookie of the Year Odds
FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA futures odds heavily favor Ball at -410, up from -350 earlier this month. He's currently averaging 14.8 points, 6.1 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game, moving into the starting lineup to start the month and never looking back. He's up to 19.5 PPG, 6.3 APG and 6.3 RPG as a starter in February.
Sacramento Kings point guard Tyrese Haliburton (+600) is the next-highest in the odds. Haliburton leads all rookies in playing time, averaging 30.1 minutes per game, and he's producing with 13.2 PPG, 5.4 APG and 3.6 RPG.
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards (+1200), New York Knicks guard Immanuel Quickley (+2400), Orlando Magic guard Cole Anthony (+3000) and Golden State Warriors big man James Wiseman (+3000) round out the top six in the Rookie of the Year odds.
While there's plenty of basketball ahead, the Rookie of the Year award is LaMelo's to lose.
