The former Miami Dolphin stepped in and made an immediate impact, and now he expects to have an even bigger year in 2020.
After recording 2 interceptions as a rookie in 2018, Fitzpatrick came to Pittsburgh and racked up 5 interceptions in just 14 games — even returning one for a 96-yard touchdown.
Fitzpatrick also held opposing quarterbacks to an incredibly low 6.5 yards per target and 46.3 passer rating when he was targeted in coverage. He even cut his missed tackle rate down to 10.9 percent (from 12.1 percent as a rookie).
Clearly not ready to rest on his laurels, Fitzpatrick says he is still learning the position, and he expects that to translate to an even better 2020 season in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh has one of the best defenses in the NFL, and Steelers fans have to be excited about the possibility that it gets even better this year.
