Chris Godwin's spectacular 2021 campaign was cut short in Week 15, as the wide receiver tore his ACL. He caught 98 passes for 1,103 yards and 5 touchdowns in his 14 games prior to the injury. Those numbers will obviously make the 25-year-old a very attractive option when he hits free agency this offseason.

Here are three of the most likely free-agent destinations for Chris Godwin.

3. Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have more projected cap space than anyone in football, and they need to do whatever it takes to surround Tua Tagovailoa with talent. Signing Godwin would be a way to do just that. He'd be a perfect fit playing alongside Jaylen Waddle, as Waddle is more of a speedster while Godwin is a traditional possession receiver. This feels like it'd be a great pairing.

2. Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts need a true WR1 to take this offense over the top. They also probably need a new quarterback, but they're unlikely to fix that this offseason. Godwin would immediately step in and be the best target in this passing game, and Indianapolis has more than enough cap space to pull this off. Plus, bringing in Godwin would move Michael Pittman down to more of a WR2 role, where he could really exploit some weaker matchups with his physicality.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers are projected to have the second-most cap space in the league at $62 million. They might also lose their WR2 in Mike Williams, who is set to be a free agent this offseason. You couldn't ask for a better replacement than Godwin. Godwin is younger, more productive and far more consistent than Williams. It's not hard to see why Godwin might be interested in heading to LA, either. Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen and Godwin would immediately become one of the most potent offensive trios in football, and the Chargers should be able to outbid just about anyone for Godwin's services. This is a real win-win move for both sides.
