Joe Mixon Injury Outlook Takes a Turn for the Worse & Boosts Giovani Bernard’s Fantasy Value in Week 8
By Zach Brunner

The Cincinnati Bengals suffered a big loss in Week 6 against the Indianapolis Colts. Not only did they lose on the scoreboard, but running back Joe Mixon went down with a foot injury. He missed Week 7, and things are looking pretty pessimistic for Week 8.

The Bengals have a tough Week 8 matchup against the Tennessee Titans. With Mixon being sidelined all week long, it appears this game is going to be even tougher than many had hoped. Mixon no practicing at all could also point to him not being especially close to a return, which certainly clouds his fantasy football outlook going forward.
Over six games, Mixon has ran for 428 yards and three touchdowns, while adding another 21 catches for 138 yards and a score. Given his average draft position, Mixon has largely been disappointing this season, and the injury as just the cherry on top.
In Mixon's absence, veteran Giovani Bernard was asked to step up in a big way. He did just that. While Bernard ran for just 37 yards, he added five receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown last week. He is expected to be heavily involved yet again.
