The New York Jets were not able to notch back-to-back wins after falling to the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9 Thursday Night Football action. Unfortunately, the loss came with some very concerning news surrounding one of the top players on their defensive front.

Safety Marcus Maye left Thursday night's loss early and was feared to suffer an Achilles injury. Head coach Robert Saleh provided an injury update following the game and New York fears the worse around their talented defensive back.

Marcus Maye Injury Update

Saleh kept his update short and simple, saying "it doesn't look good."

The fear is that Maye possible tore his Achilles tendon and that would leave the Jets without their second-best tackler for the remainder of the 2021 campaign.

“Marcus was kind of that settling force back there and obviously a heck of a football player. I’m more concerned for Marcus than I am what we’ll do defensively to try to fill that void because he’s a fantastic young man, he’s done everything we’ve asked him to do and I’m sick for him.”

Maye has notched 46 combined tackles through 6 games including 1.0 sack and 4 tackles for loss in 2021.
