The Georgia Bulldogs' quarterback situation certainly hasn't panned out the way many in The Peach State were expecting after an offseason narrative dominated by the transfer of former Wake Forest starting QB Jamie Newman.

Instead of Newman, or even USC transfer J.T. Daniels, the Bulldogs have see Stetson Bennett embrace the starting QB duties, and he's done an admirable job of managing this offense as a former backup option.

While he certainly hasn't been putting the numbers needed to win big games, i.e. Alabama and Florida, the news on Bennett for UGA fans only got worse this Monday morning following a crushing defeat to the Gators.

Bennett was forced to leave Saturday's game against Florida in the first quarter with an apparent shoulder injury before he later returned to the field after just a one-drive absence. However, it was clear that something wasn't right with his shoulder following the return until he was benched for redshirt freshman QB D'Wan Mathis after tossing an interception in the third quarter.

The latest report on Bennett is that he is "iffy" to play in this Saturday's showdown with the Missouri Tigers on the road in Columbia. As things currently stand, the Bulldogs have already opened as 13.5-point favorites over the Tigers, though that could change following any more concrete news on Bennett's status shared later this week.
