Francis Ngannou left no doubts against Stipe Miocic at UFC 260 on Saturday, earning a second-round knockout win to become the UFC Heavyweight champion.
After such a one-sided showing, Miocic doesn't appear likely to get an immediate rematch despite his long reign as champ.
That sets up a potential super-fight between Ngannou and for UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jon Jones for Ngannou's first title defense.
Francis Ngannou vs Jon Jones Odds
FanDuel Sportsbook already has UFC odds up for a potential Ngannou vs. Jones matchup. Ngannou opens as a sizable -188 favorite, while Jones is a +155 underdog. That paints Ngannou as a bigger favorite than he was against Miocic (-134) last week.
The only loss of Jones' MMA career was by disqualification back in 2009, and his 14 title fight wins are the most for any fighter in UFC history.
His last two fights (against Dominick Reyes and Thiago Santos) were two of the closest of his career, however. This would also be his first fight since moving up to Heavyweight, leaving Ngannou with a likely significant advantage in both size and strength.
The fight isn't official yet, but the odds have made it clear that Ngannou is expected to retain his title.
