DeVonta Smith Reveals His Choice Between Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones

As a wide receiver at Alabama, DeVonta Smith had the pleasure of catching passes from top quarterback talent, with Tua Tagovailoa and and Mac Jones being his primary QBs during his four-year career with the Crimson Tide. Tagovailoa went No. 5 overall in last year's draft, and Jones is shaping up to be a top-10 pick of his own this season.
When asked to give a choice between the two, Smith gave a definitive answer.

Per Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, Smith answered with Jones before the question was "barely finished," which shows how sure he is of his choice. The full context of the question is unclear, but it seems that Jones is Smith's QB1.
With Tagovailoa as his primary quarterback from 2018-19, Smith caught 20 total touchdowns for 1.949 yards. However, in his lone full season with Jones at the helm, the wideout went on to win the Hesiman Trophy with 117 receptions for 1,856 yards and 23 TDs.
Smith's answer might not be surprising since he had his best season with Jones, but it speaks volumes about his belief in the Alabama signal-caller.
The Miami Dolphins have the chance to reunite Tagovailoa and Smith with the No. 3 overall pick, though. Maybe his answer will change if he links up with his old teammate again.
