There was a ton of hype surrounding Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley as the team's top target once Julio Jones was traded. However, the early dreams of fantasy managers came crashing down on Sunday when the Falcons' offense sputtered against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ridley's relatively quiet game could make him a great buy-low trade candidate after Week 1.

Ridley played a significant role in the Falcons' offense, even if they failed to get anything going. The fourth-year pro tied with Kyle Pitts for the team high in targets (8), confirming early belief that the passing game will revolve around this duo.

In fact, Russell Gage was the only other wide receiver to record any targets (2) from quarterback Matt Ryan. Ridley is in position to feast as the clear No. 1 receiver, and his numbers should be primed to take off once Atlanta gets its offensive line to even somewhat-competent play.

Calvin Ridley Buy-Low

Ridley still managed to contribute 5 receptions for 51 yards while the Falcons struggled. He's currently WR54 in PPR scoring, and fantasy managers who took him early might be feeling burned right now. There may even be some buyer's remorse setting in with how bad Atlanta looked.

Opportunistic fantasy managers should pounce if Ridley can be had. His stock is low, but this the WR5 from 2020 we're talking about. The Falcons' offense was bound to take a minute to get going under new head coach Arthur Smith.

Atlanta boasts the third-easiest strength of schedule in the league this season. Even if they're one of the worst teams again, that means a ton of negative game scripts, and lots of receiving opportunities for Ridley. He's worth swinging a deal for if the price is right.
