Buccaneers Get Terrible News on Chris Godwin Injury

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense is rolling, with a combined 83 points in its last two games. Unfortunately, bad news has struck ahead of their Week 8 matchup against the New York Giants.
Star wideout Chris Godwin has been diagnosed with a broken finger, which has required surgery.

He's OUT for at least the Week 8 game against the #Giants
This has him out for at least one game, and given how important an index finger is for catching a football, it certainly calls into question his status for at least a game or two beyond that.
This is a big blow for the Bucs, who were finally rounding into form. Godwin has already missed a couple games this year, and the last time he was out (Week 5), Tom Brady threw for just 1 touchdowns and the Bucs score 19 points in a loss to the Bears.
Mike Evans will have to step up as the team's WR1 in the meantime, and the debut of Antonio Brown can't come soon enough. We can also expect Scotty Miller to continue playing an important role in the offense.
Thankfully for Bucs fans, they have a pretty easy matchup on tap in Week 8. FanDuel Sportsbook has them as huge 10.5-point road favorites over the 1-6 Giants.
