Noah Syndergaard, the player affectionately known as "Thor," is experiencing a bit of a down year. He's 7-5 with a 4.33 ERA, but still has some of the most electric stuff in the league, racking up 126 Ks in 126 2/3 innings pitched this season.

Even though Thor was viewed as essentially untouchable last season, the New York Mets' slow start has led some to believe that Syndergaard could be moved prior to the July 31 deadline. If he's moved, here are three of the most likely destinations for Syndergaard.

1. Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox have one of the best offenses in the league, averaging 5.65 runs per game this season (No. 3 in MLB). However, they've been let down by their pitching as Boston surrenders 5.10 runs per game (No. 22 in MLB). If the Red Sox have any hope of repeating as World Series champs, they'll likely need to deal for a starter and Syndergaard could be one of the best options available.

2. Chicago Cubs

Similarly, the Chicago Cubs could also use an upgrade in their starting rotation. Syndergaard has a career 3.21 ERA and, if he can regain the form he showed prior to this season, he could be the addition that gets Chicago over the top. The Cubs have a decent amount of talent in their farm system and they've also been known for making trades to acquire starting pitchers in recent seasons.

3. New York Yankees

The New York Yankees are another potential destination for Syndergaard. While it's unclear if the Mets would be willing to deal Thor to the Yankees, the Bronx Bombers can arguably put together the best trade package for their crosstown rivals. If the Mets demand a king's ransom, the Yankees could build a package centered around Clint Frazier and/or Miguel Andujar in order to facilitate a deal.
