Olympic Men's Freestyle Skiing Halfpipe Odds
Nico Porteous of New Zealand is the favorite in the odds to win gold at +130. But he has some top competition from four Americans in Aaron Blunck (+380), Alex Ferreira (+550), David Wise (+850) and Birk Irving (+1100). Canadian Brendan Mackay (+550) is also a contender for gold.
In the men's halfpipe at PyeongChang 2018, Porteous won the bronze medal. The 20-year-old became the first New Zealander to claim a world title when he became the 2021 World freeski halfpipe champion beating Simon D'Artois (CAN) and Birk Irving (USA).
Blunck suffered severe injuries including broken ribs and a pelvic fracture trying a new halfpipe trick during competition in Switzerland late in 2020. He returned to finish second in the Winter X Games in January 2021. The 25-year-old Colorado resident then competed at the World Championships in Aspen (fifth) and won the World Cup finals.
