The Chicago White Sox have faced test after test regarding injuries to key players this season. Eloy Jimenez hasn't played in a game yet due to a torn pectoral, Nick Madrigal underwent season-ending hamstring surgery, and Luis Robert has been sidelined since early May with a hip injury.

Now catcher Yasmani Grandal is expected to miss a chunk of time as well.

Yasmani Grandal Injury Update

The 32-year-old has landed on the injured list after suffering a torn tendon in his left knee. He's projected to miss 4-6 weeks, taking a key contributor out of an already thin lineup.

Grandal is slashing .188/.388/.436 this season with 14 home runs and 38 RBI, both of which rank second on the team.

Losing the two-time All-Star when other Opening Day starters are already on the shelf is less than ideal. However, it sounds like Grandal, along with Robert and Jimenez, could be back in time to give Chicago a boost heading into the postseason.

The White Sox have one of the best records in the AL at 50-35 and own a 6.5-game lead over second place in the AL West. They boast the third-best odds to win the World Series at +800, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
