The Chicago White Sox own a sizable lead in the AL Central to start August, and they've impressively gotten to this point while battling a number of injuries. One key player that's been sidelined is center fielder Luis Robert, who's been out of the lineup since May 2.

He's making progress in his recovery from a hip flexor tear, though, and his return is approaching.

Luis Robert Return

Manager Tony La Russa said on Thursday that while Robert won't be with the team for this weekend, his return is "imminent." That's a great sign, as it's clear Robert should be suiting up for the White Sox again in the coming days, rather than weeks.

The 23-year-old was off to a solid start to the season before his hip injury. He recorded 1 home run, 9 doubles, 8 RBI and 4 stolen bases while slashing .316/..359/.463. The 2020 AL Rookie of the Year runner-up will immediately give this team a boost on the bases and in the field with his speed.

The White Sox currently own the third-best odds to win the World Series at +600, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
