The Chicago White Sox have placed first baseman Andrew Vaughn on the COVID-19 injured list. The 23-year-old is asymptomatic, meaning he could be looking at a return pretty quickly, as he'd be eligible to get back on the field as soon as he's cleared to play.

Still, having the promising rookie miss some time isn't exactly great news for Chicago.

The former No. 3 overall pick in the 2019 MLB Draft, Vaughn has been hit or miss in his rookie campaign. In 43 appearances, the first baseman is slashing .226/.316/.394 with 4 home runs and 12 RBI across 137 at-bats. Not exactly elite-level production from such a highly-touted prospect.

Hopefully he can return to the field with a clean bill of health soon and get his rookie season back on track.
