Washington Gets Concerning Antonio Gibson Injury Update

The Washington Football Team will look to repeat as NFC East champions in 2021, but they need everyone to be healthy and ready to go in order to do so. The team recently got some concerning news regarding starting running back Antonio Gibson's latest injury update.
RB Antonio Gibson said the toe injury that forced him to miss two games late last year has lingered thru the start of the offseason. He said he's been rehabbing, and he's able to make cuts he needs to, but it's something he'll have to monitor moving forward.

Antonio Gibson Injury Update
Gibson told reporters that the toe injury he suffered last year seems to be lingering through the start of the offseason. It's an injury that caused the 22-year-old ball carrier to miss two of Washington's last four regular season games. It is not great to hear that it may still be causing issues.
Washington would benefit from having Gibson fully healthy given the production he posted in his rookie season. The former Memphis Tiger racked up 795 rushing yards on 170 carries and scored 11 touchdowns during his first year in the NFL. He also added 247 receiving yards on 36 receptions.
The coaching staff doesn't seem to be too concerned as Washington head coach Ron Rivera said today that he expects Gibson to "big jump" next season. He gives the team dynamic versatility in the backfield and is a dangerous weapon for starting quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick to take advantage of.
All things considered, this will be a situation to keep an eye on once training camp gets underway in the summer. Washington heads into the fall with odds set at +260 to win the NFC East and odds set at +5000 to win the Super Bowl, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
