Wade LeBlanc Sets MLB Record for Futility

Baltimore Orioles southpaw Wade LeBlanc was placed on the 60-day injured list with an elbow injury after being pulled from Sunday's start against the Boston Red Sox. With the shortened season, that spells the end of LeBlanc's 2020 campaign.
That's tough for LeBlanc, but it also means he just set a pretty hilarious MLB record.
The bad news: Wade LeBlanc is hurt and done for the season. The good news: he never lost and set an all-time record. He's the only player in MLB history to have an undefeated season while posting an ERA over 8 (min 5 GS)! That is RAD. May he come back st… https://t.co/SoUpnAqKNb

LeBlanc is undefeated through 6 starts this season, earning 1 win and 0 losses. That comes despite the fact that he posted an egregious 8.06 ERA in 22 1/3 innings of action. No pitcher in MLB history has ever had an undefeated season while posting an ERA over 8.00 and making at least 5 starts.
Surprisingly, it's not just that other pitchers were picking up losses in all of his starts either. The Orioles actually put together a 4-2 record in LeBlanc's 6 starts, which is pretty impressive considering they are 10-13 in the rest of their games in 2020.

Obviously the injury is disappointing for LeBlanc and the O's, but at least now he can hang his hat on this obscure record.
At +5500, the Orioles are all but drawing dead in the odds to win the AL East on FanDuel Sportsbook, leading only the Boston Red Sox (+10000).
