That 2016 game was a pure shootout, with Mayfield and Oklahoma capturing the 66-59 win over Mahomes and Texas Tech. Mayfield put up 545 passing yards and 7 TDs, while Mahomes totaled 734 passing yards and 5 TDs, showcasing the talent of both QBs before they would take the NFL by storm.
These two teams also met the year prior, in 2015, with Mayfield getting a win in that one over Mahomes, 63-27.
However, when the two QBs met in the NFL in 2018, Mahomes got his revenge. The Chiefs handed Cleveland a 37-21 loss thanks to 375 yards and 3 TDs from the former Texas Tech star.
Mayfield has the chance to move to 3-1 all-time against Mahomes with a win on Sunday, but the odds are against Cleveland, as the Chiefs enter the game as 10-point favorites, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL betting odds.
