VIDEO: Remembering When Mark Sanchez Ate a Hot Dog on the Sidelines of Jets Game

Mark Sanchez has been known for quite a few things during his eight-year NFL career. The most notorious may be the "butt fumble," where his own teammate caused him to fumble the football.

Another shining moment for Sanchez was when cameras caught him on the sidelines eating a hot dog during the game.

It was Sanchez's rookie year, which was when he was young and full of life, the period before the butt fumble. The Jets were beating up on the lowly Oakland Raiders, led by the infamous JaMarcus Russell.

The Jets pitched a shutout on the day, winning the road game 38-0. However, the main takeaway from the game was and continues to be that Sanchez was eating a hot dog on the sidelines, a symbol of just how in control of the day he was.

While it was the running game that led the way for the Jets, Sanchez still had a solid day, completing 9-of-16 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown. Russell, on the other hand, threw two interceptions and was benched.
