The NFL has been making a real effort to crack down on unnecessary blows to the head, hitting defenseless receivers and flat-out cheap shots, but that's not to say they don't still happen every once in awhile.
Unfortunately for Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams, this one was one of those times, coming at the hands of Chicago Bears linebacker Danny Trevathan.
While it's fair to assume that Trevathan's intentions weren't to hit Adams so hard that it knocked him out of the game with a serious injury and concussion, the cheap-shot nature and brutality of this hit isn't reduced to anything less.
Adams was already wrapped up by multiple defenders and using his arms and hands to secure the ball when Trevathan came barreling right into the side of his helmet as Adams' mouthpiece came flying out of his face mask.
I'm sure there's no love lost between these two teams after this hit, and certainly none lost between Trevathan and Adams.
