VIDEO: Remembering When Arkansas Ran One of the Worst Trick Plays of All-Time Against Auburn
By michael obermuller

The risk of attempting a fake in football is always that the play completely blows up in your face as a coach or player. For the Arkansas Razorbacks in 2019, this risk became an embarrassing reality.
The Auburn Tigers defense read this one like a book, as they had the entire fake covered from start to finish. It doesn't help that the Razorbacks' punter performs one of the most unathletic passing attempts in the process. The combination spells disaster.
This throw looks like a combination between a three-point jumper in basketball and a get-it-over serve in volleyball. It's pathetic, and as the ball sails helplessly into the hands of Chandler Wooten for an interception, every Arkansas fan cringes collectively. The game was already 17-0 at the time, but now it's viral on top of that.

That's the mindset behind fake plays though, go big or go home. The Razorbacks tried to go big here, but in the end they just went home with a humiliating loss.
