The reigning NFL MVP, Patrick Mahomes, went 4-for-4 for 66 yards in the Kansas City Chiefs' first preseason game on Saturday, but the throws he got in prior to the contest might have been more impressive. The toss in the video below also might have traveled farther than those four passes combined.
We have seen plenty of big throws from Mahomes before, including his ability to throw the ball out of the stadium, but it continues to be amazing just how effortless it looks when he throws a 70-yard pass. And Mahomes has proven he can make these throws ion game action too, with his longest completed pass last season traveling 60.7 yards of air distance, from the point of the throw to the point of the catch.
Mahomes currently holds the best odds to repeat as the NFL MVP, with +600 odds to win the award, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. If he continues launching throws like this and completing two-thirds of his passes, he'll be a tough player to stop.
However, if we've learned anything about Mahomes over the past year, the individual notoriety and attention means relatively little to him. He has his vision set on knocking off the New England Patriots and winning his first Super Bowl.
