VIDEO: Jimmy Garoppolo was Electric in the 2013 FCS Playoffs

Now that he's an established NFL starter and a one-time NFC champion, Jimmy Garoppolo's reputation in the pros is starting to evolve past a focus on his collegiate roots. Still, it's always going to be impressive what Garoppolo has managed to do after playing college ball in the FCS for Eastern Illinois.

A look back at the 2013 FCS Championship quarterfinal really showcases just how polished his game already was in college.

Garoppolo's Panthers ended up being upset in this game, but you can't fault the offense when a team loses a game in which they score 39 points.

Garoppolo threw 50 passes in this one, completing 38 of them for 321 yards and 2 touchdowns, with no interceptions. He also added another 2 scores on the ground, accounting for four of Eastern Illinois' five TDs.

Having just led the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl in his first season as a full-time starter, Garoppolo looks ready to take another step forward in 2020.
