VIDEO: Eagles Rookie Bench Presses 500 Pounds

The Philadelphia Eagles endured a disappointing season, to say the least, in 2020. They went from winning the Super Bowl a few seasons ago to being a 4-11-1 team last season. Needless to say, the Eagles needed to improve in a lot of areas this season, including defense.
While the Eagles improved their offense with their first two picks of the 2021 NFL Draft, they addressed their defense in the third round, selecting Louisiana Tech defensive tackle Milton Williams at No. 73. Well, it hasn't taken long for Williams to become a fan favorite. He recently impressed Philadelphia fans at the end of April by bench pressing 500 pounds.

Defensive tackles are expected to be strong and tough, but it's still extremely impressive to see Williams bench press 500 pounds. The clip itself is only 15 seconds long, but it's more than enough time to fire Eagles fans up about next season.
Williams was an absolute beast with Louisiana Tech over the last two seasons. Through 22 games, he registered 104 total tackles (19.0 for a loss), 10.0 sacks and three fumble recoveries. First-team All-Conference USA in 2020, ProFootballFocus gave the 6-foot-4 DT a 90.8 overall grade last season, which put him among some of the best defensive tackles in college football.
At the end of the day, Williams' immense strengths and talents will come in handy for the Eagles next season. As it stands, they have the worst odds to win the NFC East at +550, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. He may not move the needle too much as a rookie, but being a monster on the defensive side of the ball will still be appreciated by his new team, regardless.
