VIDEO: Absurd Series of Events at End of Monmouth University vs Kansas Basketball Game Lead to Tech

In the closing seconds of Kansas' 112-57 win over Monmouth on Friday night, the unexpected happened. While Kansas guard Tristan Enarura was dribbling out the game clock, Monmouth guard George Papas took it upon himself to creep behind Enarura, swipe the ball out of his hands and take it the other way for a one-handed jam. A move that probably shocked everyone watching.

For good measure, Papas then mouthed off at the competition, drawing a technical foul. It was quite the closing scene to what would have otherwise been an uneventful blowout at Allen Fieldhouse, which led to a rain of boos from the crowd directed at Papas.

While Kansas coach Bill Self had a surprisingly lighthearted response to the incident, even chastising Enarura for his ball protection, Monmouth coach King Rice was less than thrilled with Papas' end-of-game hijinks.

Monmouth next plays at Pittsburgh on Monday night, and it will be interesting to see what response Papas gets from the away crowd. If anything, he is a player to watch in the waining minutes of all games in which Monmouth is getting blown out, going forward.
