Tyrann Mathieu Heaps Unexpected Praise on Matt Stafford

Tyrann Mathieu and Matthew Stafford have never played on the same team together, but that doesn't mean there can't be mutual respect between the two.

Mathieu took to Twitter to express his admiration for Stafford. While it was unexpected coming from Mathieu, you'd have to assume the comment was sparked by Stafford's impressive game-winning drive against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 7.

Stafford has always somewhat gone under the radar. He has consistently put up impressive passing numbers, but the Lions have never really been true contenders during his time in Detroit. He has played at a high level for years, however, not posting a passer rating below even 89.9 since 2014 (when he also made his lone Pro Bowl).

Regardless, you have to appreciate getting a full endorsement from a defensive star like Matthieu.
