Two Lions Players Named Last-Minute Additions to Pro Bowl Roster

While they ultimately fell just short of the playoffs, the Detroit Lions had a lot to be proud of during the 2022 season. They improved their record by six wins over the previous year, finishing above .500 for the first time since 2017.
Head coach Dan Campbell is credited with getting the most out of his players, several of whom were honored with Pro Bowl selections.

Detroit Lions Pro Bowl News
While center Frank Ragnow was Detroit's only Pro Bowler when the selections were originally announced in December, two of his teammates will now join him in Las Vegas this weekend. Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and offensive tackle Penei Sewell were chosen as last-minute replacements to the NFC's Pro Bowl roster on Monday.
St. Brown will replace Philadelphia Eagles wideout A.J. Brown, while Sewell will fill in for Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson. Both will sit out this weekend's Pro Bowl in order to prepare for the following weekend's Super Bowl against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Both Lions are worthy backups. St. Brown, 23, racked up 1,256 yards from scrimmage and 6 total touchdowns in just his second NFL season. Sewell's also in his second season but is already regarded as one of the league's top offensive linemen at 22 years old.
With their combination of youth and talent, both players appear to have bright futures ahead of them. So while this may be their first Pro Bowl trip, it probably won't be their last.
