The blockbuster portion of the MLB offseason seems to have passed by, but that hasn't stopped MLB teams from making lower-level moves. At times, these are the moves that can provide unexpected positive results throughout the lengthy 162-game season.

On Friday, the Minnesota Twins claimed a veteran pitcher off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.

Twins insider Dan Hayes reported Friday the Twins claimed Oliver Ortega to the roster. In a corresponding move they designated Blayne Enlow for assignment.

Despite a lengthy resume, Ortega came onto the scene in 2022 as a successful option in LA's pen. He tallied a 3.71 ERA across 27 appearances and finished seven games. MLB teams can never have enough bullpen arms and this is a solid addition for Minnesota's front office.
