Tua Tagovailoa Has Mature Response to Potential Dolphins QB Trade Rumors This Offseason
While it's only his second season in the NFL, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has already been the topic of trade rumors with the Miami Dolphins. The former Alabama standout recently had a mature response when asked about the possibility of those conversations coming up in the offseason.
Tua Tagovailoa Trade Rumors
Tagovailoa was a name that circulated the trade rumor mill last summer when the Dolphins were linked to Houston Texans' QB Deshaun Watson. It's possible that Miami attempts to move him once again for an experienced signal-caller, yet Tagovailoa doesn't seem to be too worried about it.
It's hard to believe that the 23-year-old may be moved given the success he has had in his short time as an NFL starter. Tagovailoa has posted a winning record in both of his first two seasons and is steadily improving. Surrounding him with talented offensive playmakers could turn him into a star.
However, it's hard to overlook the injury concerns that come along with the 2019 first-round pick. He has missed 4 games due to injury this season and hasn't proven he can take on the big hits quite yet. Miami continues to hover around the .500 mark and cannot take that next step into the playoffs.
All things considered, Tagovailoa is handling the situation at hand as best as he can. Next year will undoubtedly be a pivotal season for the young QB, but he has a Week 18 matchup against the New England Patriots first. Miami is slated as 6.5-point home underdogs in that one, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
